Our Story

Why We Publish

RoseWing Press was founded in 2026 with a straightforward idea: that books deserve the same care in their making as in their writing. We are a small, independent publishing house based in Poughkeepsie, New York, in the heart of the Hudson Valley — a region with a long literary history.

We believe the best books are those that stay with you long after the last page. They both challenge and illuminate. These are the books we seek to publish.

Our Approach

We publish a deliberately small number of titles each year. This allows us to give each book the editorial attention, design care, and marketing effort it deserves. We are not interested in publishing for volume. We are interested in publishing books that matter — to their authors, to their readers, and to the larger conversation.

Every RoseWing Press title is thoughtfully edited, beautifully designed, and produced to a standard we're proud of. From typography to paper stock, from cover art to the interior layout — we attend to the details that make a physical book worth owning.

What We Publish

Our interests are broad, but our standards are specific. We publish work that demonstrates originality of thought, clarity of expression, and depth of engagement with its subject. We are drawn to writing that takes risks — whether in form, in subject, or in perspective.

We welcome queries from authors working in a range of genres and forms. If you believe your work aligns with our values, we'd like to hear from you. Please visit our contact page for submission inquiries.

Hudson Valley Roots

The Hudson Valley has been home to writers, artists, and thinkers for generations. From the painters of the Hudson River School to contemporary authors drawn by the region's beauty and proximity to New York City, the Valley has always been a place where creative work thrives. RoseWing Press is proud to add its voice to this tradition.
